A car was driven into a number of people after a fight near a pub, police have said.
No-one has been reported injured and two men have been arrested after the incident in the car park of the Oxton Bar and Kitchen, Wirral, at about 23:20 BST on Friday, Merseyside Police said.
Officers said there had been a "disturbance involving two men", who then got into a Mercedes and caused "significant damage" to the car park gate.
"One of the men then became involved in an altercation with another group of males," police said, before one person drove the car off with a man on the vehicle.
"It was believed to have been in collision with a number of members of the public," police said.
The second man ran off and the car was later found by officers.
Witness appeal
Two men from Wirral, aged 21 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of offences including grievous bodily harm, driving while unfit through drink, failing to stop after a road accident and affray.
They remain in custody as police appeal for information.
Det Insp Sarah Wilkinson said: "We know the Oxton Bar and Kitchen would have been busy last night and believe a number of people would have witnessed or been involved in this incident.
"At this stage, no one has come forward to police to report they were injured."
She said inquiries were also being made with local hospitals.
