Police say a teenager was stabbed in the leg during an attempted robbery.

Gloucestershire Police said the victim, who is aged 16, refused to give his bike to a younger boy who pulled out a knife and plastic handgun after a confrontation.

The incident happened on 21 August in on the canal towpath, close to Queen Elizabeth Field in Stroud, at about 15:45 BST.

When the victim attempted to cycle away the suspect, believed to be aged between 12 and 14, stabbed them in their leg.

Officers want anyone with information to contact the police.

Police describe the suspect as white with an olive tan, about 5ft 5in tall and of a skinny build.

He was covering his face with a balaclava, they added.
