Three people charged following serious assaults

Three people have been charged after two serious assaults in County Down on Sunday.

Police received a report just after 21:10 BST on Sunday that a woman was found with facial injuries by a member of the public in the Newry Street area of Rathfriland.

The woman said she had been held her against her will and assaulted in a property in the Dromore Street, officers attended the address and found a man, who also had facial injuries.

A 25-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man and another man aged 29 will appear before Newry Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The woman has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, false imprisonment, robbery, theft and theft of a vehicle.

A 23-year-old man is charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, false imprisonment, theft, theft of a vehicle and robbery,

While the older male faces charges, including two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, false imprisonment, non-fatal strangulation, theft, theft of a vehicle and robbery.
