A busy road in a town in Nottinghamshire has been closed overnight following a "serious collision", police said.

Emergency services were called to the A57 in Worksop shortly after midnight on Saturday.

The road has been shut between Ollerton Road and Mansfield Road while investigations take place.

About seven hours after the closure was put in place, Nottinghamshire Police said it was expected to remain for "several more hours".

Police did not give details of any casualties or the vehicles involved, but asked anyone who saw the crash or who has dashcam footage to get in touch.
