A man who raped and abused two young girls has been jailed for 22 years.

Adrian Rycroft, 43, of no fixed abode, committed the offences between 2019 and 2023.

Rycroft denied the charges but was found guilty by a jury of 10 offences after a trial at Leeds Crown Court in January.

Speaking after Friday's sentencing hearing, Det Con Amy Green said Rycroft "clearly poses a significant danger to young children".

The court heard how the Huddersfield man's offending came to light when his victims reported him to the police.

Det Con Green, of the Kirklees District Child Safeguarding Unit, said: “The appalling offences he committed against his young victims has affected them both deeply, and starkly illustrates the dreadful impact this has on victims."
