A healthcare trust is looking for volunteers to assess how well North Devon District Hospital supports its patients.

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust said patient-led assessments of the care environment (PLACE) aim to improve hospitals.

The teams, which include patients, their friends and family, look at the cleanliness and condition of hospitals as well as facilities such as car parking and quality of food.

The trust asked people interested in taking part in the PLACE assessments scheduled for 5 and 6 November to check its website for details, external.

The results of the PLACE assessment are published nationally and hospital areas are graded, so improvements can be made and measured, the trust added.
