Pedestrian hit by car suffers critical head injury

A pedestrian has a potentially life threatening head injury after being hit by a car, police have said.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was knocked down by a silver Vauxhall Corsa in Torrington Road in Hilsea, Portsmouth, at about 07:10 BST.

She remains in Southampton General Hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
