Officers investigating the death of 21-year-old woman who was hit by a car have appealed for witnesses.
The woman died at the scene of the collision in Brassington Avenue, Sutton Coldfield, just before midnight on Friday. A second woman sustained a leg injury.
Det Sgt Paul Hughes, of West Midlands Police, said: "We would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw the car involved, a silver Toyota Corolla immediately before the collision happened."
Two men were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. One was released with no further action and the other man bailed with strict conditions, the force said.
"I would like to thank all those who have contacted us so far and all those that went to the aid of the two young women on the night," said Mr Hunt, from the force's serious collisions investigations unit.
He appealed for anyone with CCTV from the surrounding area to contact police.
"This was a heart-breaking incident which has robbed a young woman of her life," he said.
