A man from Kent has celebrated his 50th birthday by running 50 half marathons in 50 days.
Steve Wolfe, from Newington, has been running 13.1 miles (21.08 kilometres) daily in aid of Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance (KSS) and completed his 50th half marathon earlier.
Mr Wolfe said the challenge had "been a real struggle at times" but it was "incredible what the human body can do if you put your mind to it".
This challenge forms part of Mr Wolfe's goal to run 24,901 miles (40,075km), within 10 years, a challenge he is calling Run the World.
To complete his final half marathon, Mr Wolfe ran 6.3 miles (10.2km) from his house, 3.7 miles (6km) to Milton Creek Country Park and then the final 3.1 miles (5k) at the Sittingbourne Parkrun.
"Ultimately it's only ever putting one foot in front of the other," Mr Wolfe said.
The runner said he wanted to raise money for KSS because he had "seen first-hand the excellent work the air ambulance do for our community".
Mr Wolfe was supported by KSS when he performed CPR on a fellow parkrun participant who had suffered from a cardiac arrest.
In 2020 Mr Wolfe was in a road traffic accident and said he "saw that day how the response from the air ambulance gave that person a chance of life".
Lola Inge, running and challenge manager at KSS said: "We are so grateful to Steve for the funds he has raised and what he has done to increase awareness of our lifesaving service."
