A driver is in a critical condition after crashing his car at a hospital in Sheffield.

The man, aged 62, was driving a Silver Toyota RAV4 through the grounds of the Northern General Hospital at about 12:30 BST when it hit a stationary car, which in turn hit another vehicle.

South Yorkshire Police said the driver was removed from the car by witnesses and given first aid before being taken into the hospital.

The force has appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the car prior to the crash to come forward.
