A man has been charged with attempted murder after a man sustained head injuries in a suspected racist attack in County Londonderry.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was assaulted in Drumard Drive, Coleraine, at about 22:15 BST on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old suspect is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon and behaviour intending or likely to stir up hatred.
He is further charged with aggravated burglary following a separate incident a short time later, during which a couple were threatened with a hammer.
The break-in took place at Laurel Hill Gardens and the suspect reportedly matched the description of the attacker involved in the earlier assault.
The Drumard Drive victim required hospital treatment and police said they were treating that assault as a racially-motivated hate crime.
The suspect was arrested following a search of a nearby house in Coleraine on Tuesday.
He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
