Detectives have named a man whose death is being investigated as murder.

David Morgan, 73, was found dead at his home in Brook Street in Raunds, Northamptonshire, on Wednesday.

A 38-year-old woman remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday.

Northamptonshire Police said it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct because on 2 October, Mr Morgan had reported to force that he had been assaulted.

Det Ch Insp Johnny Campbell said: "Our thoughts are with David's family and friends at this deeply difficult time.

"We are working at pace to establish the circumstances of David's death and I would ask anyone with information which could help us to please get in touch."
