Fire crews have extinguished a blaze at an outbuilding.
Essex Fire Service said it was called to Mumford's Hill in Wethersfield at 18:13 GMT on Friday.
They found the structure about 80% alight and crews from Wethersfield, Halstead, Braintree and Coggeshall had brought it under control by about 20:40.
Station manager Pete Donovan praised the work of the firefighters and said: "It went from a situation where we thought the building would be completely destroyed to a position where it is now saveable."
An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.

Crews remained at the site to dampen down hot spots
