A property that police said was linked to anti-social behaviour has been boarded up and served with a closure order.

Suffolk Police and West Suffolk Council said issues at Wollaston Close in Bury St Edmunds stemmed from drug-related activity.

The order was granted at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Insp Andy Beeby said the move would "improve the quality of life" for people in the area.

The closure order prevents people from entering the property, external for an initial period of three months.

"Such actions are a last resort, but we have a duty and are prepared to act in response to complaints of anti-social behaviour which have a detrimental impact on the quality of life for those residents affected," said Insp Beeby.

The council can apply for an extension on the order for a further three months if it feels it is required.
