A flat linked to prostitution has been subject to a full closure order.

Hertfordshire Police and St Albans City & District Council worked in partnership to secure the order on the address on London Colney's High Street.

It followed reports the flat had been sub-let to a woman who was suspected of being involved in prostitution, and drug and anti-social activity.

The council, which owns the property, worked with police to secure the order at St Albans Magistrates' Court.

Sgt Mike Saunders, from the police's St Albans Community Safety Unit, said: "No-one should have to put up with this kind of behaviour on their doorstep and we hope this provides some respite from the ongoing issues suffered by neighbours."

Anyone who breaches the order could face arrest, a fine or imprisonment.
