Bomb squad officers are investigating reports of a hand grenade in Cannock

Sections of the Miller & Carter steakhouse car park in Cannock have been shut following reports a hand grenade was found nearby.

Army explosive ordnance disposal experts launched an investigation after the discovery in Lichfield Road, Cannock just before 12:30 BST on Saturday.

Access to the Mill Green and Hawks Green Valley nature reserve has been restricted, Staffordshire Police has warned.

The pub remains open however staff have reduced the number of bookings it can accept for the day, the manager confirmed.
