Alleys trail showcases 'other side of Moss Side'

A walking trail of alleys which have been transformed into green spaces will showcase "the other side" of Manchester's Moss Side neighbourhood.
The area has historically been linked with crime but resident Mark Edwards described it as "a really beautiful neighbourhood, beautiful community and I think it gets let down by these presumptions that it’s not a nice place".
He had the idea for the trail after improving a local alley and noticing similar ones while walking his dog.
The trail - which opens for one day on Sunday - includes 12 alleys and green spaces.
They includes spaces cleared for flowers, fruit and vegetables, with bath tubs and washing machine drums used to grow plants.
Mr Edwards said he hoped the trail would provide inspiration to others.
“A lot of the time you walk down an alleyway in Manchester and it’s just full of rubbish,” he said.
“So it's quite refreshing to walk down an alleyway and see that people care about it.
"Hopefully that will lead to other people wanting to do it themselves.”
The trail is open on Sunday from 11:00 BST, with maps available from Platt Fields Market Garden.
