Plans for 353 new homes in a market town have been given the green light.
Herefordshire Council approved the new housing estate on the former Barons’ Cross Camp, off Cholestry Road in Leominster.
Construction is expected to start soon and 88 of the new homes will be given to the council.
Persimmon Homes managing director Lee Hawker said the development would help make the "dream of homeownership" a reality for local families.
The plans include properties ranging from two to five bed homes.
The planning approval also secured a £1.8m community benefit contribution for the local area.
Plans include investing £600,000 into local schools and £38,304 allocated to upgrading sports facilities with improvements planned for Bridge Street Sports Park.
In addition, £700,000 will be spent on traffic management and air quality improvements on the A44 and possibly the Leominster Southern Relief Road.
