Attacker who live-streamed stabbing jailed

An attacker who live-streamed himself stabbing his victim in what police said was a "cruel and humiliating act" has been jailed for two years.
Liam Robinson, of Doncaster, filmed himself with a knife, threatening to stab his victim in the face on 19 December 2023, and broadcast the attack on Facebook.
An anonymous tip-off to police told how the victim, who had been at Robinson's house completing a labouring job, was being stabbed in a live video online.
Robinson, 31, was arrested and pleaded guilty to wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and assault by beating of an emergency worker, after he also spat at a custody officer.
Robinson, of Kirkhouse Green Road, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday.
The court heard that officers arrived at Robinson's house, in Moorends, Doncaster, at about 19:20 GMT, minutes after the anonymous report had been received.
Blood was found in the house and Robinson was arrested.
"This was effectively a crime in action with an outstanding victim and a dangerous individual at large," said Det Con Jack Goodall, from South Yorkshire Police.
"Robinson subjected his victim to a brutal assault which he then live-streamed to people through his Facebook account."
"This was a cruel and humiliating act which only served to add to the physical punishment he inflicted on the victim."
