A body has been found in the water off Shetland by emergency services searching for a keen wild swimmer.

Ian Napier, 58, had not been seen since heading off for what police believe would have been a walking or swimming session around Scousburgh Bay on Friday.

A search involving the RNLI's lifeboat from Lerwick and the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Sumburgh was launched.

Police Scotland said a body was found in the water at about 11:40 on Saturday.

Formal identification has not taken place, however Mr Napier's family have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
