Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after hundreds of pounds worth of insulation sheets were stolen from a construction site in Sheffield.

The theft happened at about 06:20 BST on 20 September, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Two vans allegedly caused damage to a car as they left the site on Savile Street before heading towards Sheffield city centre, a force spokesperson said.

Anyone who recognised the man, who was described by police as white, in his 40s, of large build, about 5ft 10ins (1.8m) tall, with short hair which was black on top and grey on the sides, was asked to get in touch.

The CCTV image also showed the man wearing a black body warmer, with a black jumper underneath with a single white stripe down both arms, as well as black jogging bottoms and black shoes.

A spokesperson for the South Yorkshire force said: "Police now want to identify the man in the image as they feel he may be able to assist with their investigation."
