Keith Flint mural to be restored to former glory

The Keith Flint mural at Braintree Town FC is "showing signs of wear", having been unveiled more than five years ago

A mural made in memory of Prodigy singer Keith Flint will undergo a makeover, to restore it to its original condition.
The artwork was produced by David 'Gnasher' Nash in honour of Flint, 49, who was the dance act's frontman until his death in March 2019.
Depicting the singer with his trademark pierced tongue sticking out, the artwork was spray-painted on to a water tank at Braintree Town FC, close to where he lived.
But more than five years on, the mural has been showing signs of wear - so Mr Nash is returning to the RBMC Stadium on Thursday to "spruce up" the design, ahead of the sixth anniversary of Flint's death.

The Keith Flint mural took seven hours to complete back in 2019
"I follow Braintree Town FC online so I've seen pictures of the mural popping up all the time, and I have seen it is flaking off a bit here and there," said Mr Nash.
"But I don't think it needs that much TLC and I am hoping it will take two to three hours max.
"I am pretty optimistic and it just feels like the right time to get it done."
Street artist Mr Nash was enlisted to produce the mural by the club, after Flint was found dead at his Essex home on 4 March 2019.
The commemorative piece has since been seen by hundreds of fans, while the group's number one hit Firestarter gets played at home matches.
"There were a few little bits on the mural that I was not happy with, so I might take them out and I might put some more detail in it," added Mr Nash.
"It was five-and-a-half years ago, so hopefully I've got better since then, so maybe I will tweak it a bit and sharpen it up, but overall I was quite happy with it."

Artist David 'Gnasher' Nash said he might make some small changes to his original creation
During the event Mr Nash will be joined by Fay Greaves, known for her appearance on The Traitors, who will be representing Ripple Suicide Prevention.
A spokesperson for Braintree Town said: "This Thursday, David 'Gnasher' Nash returns to Braintree to spruce up our popular Keith Flint mural.
"Understandably, the mural is showing signs of wear [but] Gnasher is returning to smarten the water tank up and bring the mural back to the condition it was in in 2019."
