Four penguin sculptures that make up part of a display of eighty around Worcester are back on show after being repaired.

Two of the four Waddle of Worcester fibreglass figures had been vandalised less than a day after going on display in July.

A total of 40 individual penguins and 40 chicks are on show around the city to raise money for St Richard's Hospice.

"We’re delighted to have our happy huddle of 80 penguins waddling in Worcester once again," said Sara Matthews from the hospice, adding that the four taken off the trail "responded well to their ‘tweetment’ and are good as new."

Attempts had been made to remove Kingfisher Azure at Bromwich Parade and Little Blue Makes A Wish at Cripplegate Park, leading to cracks in their feet.

Picasso Penguin outside The Hive and Blue Penguin at Kleve Walk were also in need of repairs.

People are being urged not to climb on the sculptures as they follow the outdoor walking trail, which is on until 15 September.

"In October, these beautiful works of art will be auctioned to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice," said Ms Matthews.

"So we appreciate everybody’s support in taking care not to stand on feet and tails and not swinging on their beaks."
