Police appeal after cyclist, 72, dies

Police have appealed for information following a cyclist's death in Inverness.

Emergency services were called to the B9006 at Westhill, near Culloden, at about 08:45.

Police said the 72-year-old man had come off his turquoise Bianchi bike. He later died in hospital.

Sgt Neil MacDonald said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time."

He added: "Inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to any witnesses to contact us.

"We also ask anyone with dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward."
