Chatham Town will head to Derbyshire to face Buxton in the FA Cup first-round proper after reaching the stage for the first time in 97 years.

Seventh-tier Chatham booked their place in the first round after Saturday's 3-1 win against Tonbridge Angels, who play two tiers above in the National League South.

Buxton are currently 10th in the National League North and have won four of their 10 games so far this season.

All 48 teams from League One and Two will join the 32 non-league teams who progress from the qualifying rounds, with teams in the Premier League and Championship joining in round three.

Speaking ahead of the team draw on Monday evening, captain Reece Butler said when the third goal went in against Angels on Saturday it was "up there with the best moments I've had".

He said: "It was like something out of a film and we're all buzzing to be here for the draw.

"I'm a scaffolder and lorry driver, but I love playing football. I love my job [but] not in the winter."

Sam Sene-Richardson, who is 18 years-old and has come through the club's academy, said: "It's cementing history. It's the first time in 97 years so it's unforgettable."

Chatham will play Buxton on the weekend of 1 November, with the exact date yet to be decided.
