Repairs are being carried out on bridge over a two-day period

A swing bridge in the north of the Isle of Man is closed for two days of repairs.

The Department of Infrastructure said the works would be carried out between 09:00 and 16:30 on Thursday and Friday.

The Ramsey Swing Bridge allows vehicles and pedestrians access over the inner harbour to the swimming pool and North Promenade from the town centre.

The structure, which was opened in 1892, was given protected status in March.

The department said the closure was to allow engineers to make repairs to the bridge’s swing mechanism.
