A former school staff member will face trial after denying sexual activity with a pupil.

During a hearing at Gloucester Crown Court on Friday, Leila Jackson, 43, from Gretton in Gloucestershire pleaded not guilty to five charges of sexual activity with a boy aged 16 to 17 while in a position of trust.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between December 2020 and May 2021 while Ms Jackson worked as an administrator at a Cheltenham school.

Ms Jackson was released on conditional bail ahead of her trial, which is expected to take place on 28 June 2027.

During Friday's hearing, Judge Rupert Lowe described the case as "deeply embarrassing".
