Remembrance events in Lincolnshire

Remembrance services will be held around the county, including in Lincoln

Parades and services will be held around Lincolnshire on Remembrance Sunday.

Lincoln Cathedral will host a service of remembrance at 10:40 GMT, which will include the two-minute silence. In the evening, the cathedral will be lit up in red "as a beacon of remembrance and hope", organisers said.

In Scunthorpe, a parade will follow a route from the Baths Hall to the cenotaph outside North Lincolnshire Museum, beginning at 10:25, with the service from 10:45.

Councillor Carol Ross, the mayor of North Lincolnshire, said: "It is a privilege to lead our community in remembering and honouring the immense contribution of our armed forces – those who serve today and those who have served."

She added: "This Remembrance Sunday offers us all the opportunity to come together in respect, gratitude, and unity. I look forward to our community standing side by side to pay tribute and reflect."

There will be free parking in council car parks, external in Scunthorpe.

Here are some of the other events taking place around Lincolnshire. Some will include road closures along parade routes.

Boston: An act of remembrance will take place at 10:45 at the war memorial in Wide Bargate, followed by a service at St Botolph's Church at 11:30 and a parade through the town.

Cleethorpes: A service will be held at St Peter's Church from 10:00. A parade will leave the church at 11:30, arriving at the Memorial Gate at 12:00.

Gainsborough: A service will be held at All Saints Parish Church, followed by a procession to the war memorial at 10:55.

Grantham: A parade will begin at 10:30 from Grantham High Street to St Wulfram's Church.

Grimsby: A service will be held at Grimsby Minster at 09:30. At 10:25, a parade will follow a route to Deansgate Bridge and along Bargate to the cenotaph, arriving at 10:50. A coach will be available for those who are unable to walk.

Horncastle: A parade will leave Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School at 09:30 for St Mary's Church, where a service will begin at 10:00. The parade will then make its way to the Horncastle Memorial Centre, North Street, for the act of remembrance. At 12:00 there will be a further service at the Korean Veterans War Memorial in Hamerton Gardens.

Immingham: At 10:30, a parade will leave Immingham lorry park, Pelham Road, for the memorial, where a service will begin at 10:45.

Louth: A parade will begin at 10:50 from Northgate car park through Eastgate and Mercer Row to St James' Church. There will be a two-minute silence and wreath laying at 11:00. There will be a service at 11:35 and a return parade at 12:55.

Lincoln: On Saturday, a procession will set off from the Guildhall at 10:30. It will arrive at the war memorial, High Street, for a service at 10:45.

Skegness: A parade will leave the Hildreds service yard, off Beresford Avenue, at 10:30 and make its way to St Matthew's Church for a service.

Spalding: A parade will assemble in the Market Place before heading to Ayscoughfee Hall Gardens. The act of remembrance will follow, including the two-minute silence at 11:00, outside the recently restored Lutyens Memorial.

Stamford: A parade will leave Star Lane at 10:50 before a service from the balcony at Browne's Hospital on Broad Street, followed by a two-minute silence at 11:00.
