Police appeal after woman reports town centre rape

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a woman reported a rape in a town.

Northamptonshire Police said the assault happened in the Thomas Street area of Northampton between 21:00 and 21:45 BST on Thursday 28 August.

The force said it was looking for a black man, about 6ft 4in (1.9m) who was wearing a baseball cap, dark jeans and a top.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area on the Thursday evening around Thomas Street, Robert Street, Bailiff Street and Ash Street.
