Three people arrested over town centre stabbing

Three people have been arrested after a teenager was stabbed in the leg in Ipswich town centre.

Suffolk Police was called to St Stephen's Lane shortly before midnight on Saturday after an altercation involving a group of males, at least one of whom is believed to have been carrying a knife.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Two men, aged 20 and 19, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm on Wednesday and later released on bail.

Police said that while in custody the 19-year-old man was additionally arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B or C drugs.

Officers urged anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
