A man has been fined after racing through a red light at a key junction.
David Mayne, 46, of Upper Seagry in Chippenham, Wiltshire, was recorded by an off-duty officer driving without due care and attention near the A4 through Corsham on 7 September 2023.
Mayne pleaded guilty at Swindon Magistrates' Court on 7 October and was ordered to pay a £2,185. He was also given six points on his license.
Wiltshire’s Police's Sgt Neil Bott said: “This offender was brought to justice thanks to a quick-thinking off-duty officer who sent us a video clip."
Dashcam footage caught Mayne overtake a car in his Porsche Cayman and race through a red light at the junction of Bath Road and Cross Keys Road, shortly after 19:00 BST.
Sgt Bott added: “If you capture someone driving in a manner that puts other road users at risk, we will inform the registered keeper of our intention to prosecute the driver and work with the Crown Prosecution Service to convict them.
“This notice must be served within 14 days of the offence so please do not delay in sending us your footage.”
