Teen arrested after man, 67, suffers head injury

A teenager has been arrested after a 67-year-old man was found with a head injury in Chesterfield.

Derbyshire Police said officers had found the injured man in Knifesmithgate, close to the junction with Cavendish Street, at about 03:00 BST on Sunday. Witnesses said the man had been assaulted.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody.

Police said the 67-year-old man had been taken to hospital but was now in a stable condition. The force has appealed for witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV footage to come forward.
