Derbyshire County Council closed part of the A6, in Buxton, on Friday

A section of the main A6 road in Buxton has reopened after it was closed due to concerns about nearby trees.

Diversions were put in place on Friday night after Derbyshire County Council put up barriers to block off the road, between the roundabout near Morrisons and another leading to Fairfield Road.

At the time, the authority said it had concerns about trees on land next to the road and was in the process of organising contractors to remove them.

In an update shortly after 15:30 GMT on Saturday, the council said the road had been reopened following work to take down some of the trees causing concern.

The council apologised for any delays caused by the operation.
