Driver, 19, arrested after boy, 11, hit by car

Police were called to Wigston Road's junction with Chaceley Close following reports a boy was hit by the car

A man has been arrested after an 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after being hit by a car in Coventry.
West Midlands Police said the 19-year-old was held on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving following the incident at around 15:00 BST on Sunday.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said paramedics and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene on Wigston Road, near to the junction with Chaceley Close.
The boy received advanced trauma care and was taken to University Hospital Coventry for further assessment, said the ambulance service.
Police confirmed the boy's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
A statement from the force on Monday said the 19-year-old remained in custody for questioning.
Officers asked anyone with information that could help the investigation to come forward.
