Two crash arrests as driver killed and child hurt

Two men have been arrested after a driver was killed and a child was seriously injured in a three-car crash.
The child was in the white Toyota Yaris in which the person died, and was airlifted to hospital.
One man, 29, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving while the second, 33, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
It happened on the A483 at Belan, near Welshpool, Powys, at about 18:15 GMT on Saturday. The victim died at the scene.
The Yaris was heading south while the other cars, a red BMW X3 and a blue Audi S4, were going north.
The road was closed overnight while the matter was investigated and it reopened at 09:50 on Sunday.
The family of the person who died is being supported by Dyfed-Powys Police, and officers are appealing for witnesses.
