Princess Royal to open new teaching facility
- Published
The Princess Royal will officially open a new town-centre teaching facility later this month.
The Quad was set up as a collaboration between Telford and Wrekin Council, Telford College and Harper Adams University and will host more than 300 students a year.
It is based close to Telford Central railway station and its focus is on teaching the applied sciences and digital skills.
The council has plans to further develop the area, which has been called the Station Quarter.
The authority said it planned to show Princess Anne its plans when she visits on 11 October.
The Quad will offer courses run by both Telford College and Harper Adams University, including study in artificial intelligence, digital marketing and computer-aided design.
There is also space on the top floor for businesses to rent out when they are starting up.
The Princess Royal is the chancellor of Harper Adams University.
The vice-chancellor, Professor Ken Sloan, said she had "taken a keen interest in the development of The Quad".
