A 57-year-old man has been denied bail after appearing in court charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The crash happened on the A487 Treborth Road in Bangor, Gwynedd, at approximately 20:30 BST on Tuesday and involved a VW Golf and a Vauxhall Corsa.
Three teenagers who had been celebrating a birthday were injured, with the 17-year-old driver suffering "potentially life-threatening injuries".
The driver, of Beaumaris, Anglesey, denied the charge at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on Friday, where prosecutor Grace Carson KC described the incident as a "catastrophic collision", and he was remanded into custody until next month when he will appear before Caernarfon Crown Court.
