A boy has appeared before Hull Crown Court charged with attempted murder and possession of a blade after a 13-year-old girl was found stabbed.
The girl was found with serious injuries to her neck, abdomen, chest and back near the A63 in Hessle, East Yorkshire, at about 06:50 GMT on 1 November.
The 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named because of his age, appeared before a judge on Wednesday. He did not enter any pleas.
He will next appear at the same court on 16 December for a mention hearing.
Previously, prosecutors alleged the boy had been in possession of a samurai sword.
Five other teenagers were also arrested in connection with the incident.
Three boys, aged 15, 16 and 17, and two girls, aged 14 and 15, have been released on police bail.
