Queues on the M4 near Bristol have cleared after a crash and urgent roadworks took place.

The Prince of Wales Bridge was closed eastbound and there were queues because of emergency pothole repairs from Junction 23 to Junction 22.

Separately, drivers heading westbound from Junction 19 in Bristol to Junction 20 were queuing after two cars and a van were involved in a collision.

Traffic had been diverted along the original Severn Bridge, the M48.
