Park cordoned off as police investigate rape

A cordon is in place along the edge of Winton Recreation Ground off Maxwell Road in Bournemouth

A cordon has been set up at a park as police investigate a reported rape.

Dorset Police said a woman, aged in her 30s, reported being attacked by a man in a wooded area off Maxwell Road in Bournemouth at about 21:20 GMT on Wednesday.

The force said a detailed investigation was being carried out and the victim was being supported by specially trained officers.

Police remain at Winton Recreation Ground carrying out inquiries and urged anyone with information or concerns to speak with an officer.
