With three months to go before the tax deadline, more than 12,000 islanders have already submitted their returns - but help is on hand for those yet to do the paperwork.

The government is running a drop-in session in St Peter Port for people who submit paper or online returns or have more general tax queries.

The event, on Saturday 13 September, will run between 08:00 and 14:00 BST at Sir Charles Frossard House and there is no need for an appointment.

Attendees are asked to bring the device they use to complete their return, if they complete it online.

A drop-in session was also held until 16:45 BST on Monday at Edward T Wheadon House for anyone completing an online return.

The government said 82% of the 12,787 people who have already submitted their 2024 tax return completed the paperwork digitally.

Tax returns must be filed by the 30 November deadline.
