Angus councillors have approved two multi-million pound local authority housing projects in Arbroath.

The town's former St Thomas RC Primary School site is to be redeveloped at a cost of £7m to provide 35 homes, including 20 one-bedroom flats.

The school closed five years ago and has since been demolished.

Angus Council's proposals for a £6m 32-home development on Newton Crescent were also approved.

The Newton Crescent project will include one-bedroom garden flats, terraced properties of various sizes and a five-bedroom house.

Six wheelchair accessible homes are also planned.
