An investigation has been launched after a small motorboat ran aground at a marina.

Guernsey Coastguard said the vessel had collided with the rock armour on the East Arm of the Queen Elizabeth II Marina.

It said two people were onboard the vessel at the time of the accident but there were no reported injuries.

The accident happened after 23:00 BST on Saturday, the service said.

In a statement, it said: "An attempt to re-float the vessel this morning (Sunday) has failed, and a further attempt will be made at the next high water.

"An investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing."
