Speeding driver caught doing 84mph in 30mph zone

A driver has been caught doing 84mph (135km/h) in a 30mph (48km/h) limit.
Essex Police said the speeding car was clocked as part of a road safety crackdown in the west of the county.
The force said nine drivers were caught speeding - including one who was watching a programme on a screen - and could face prosecution.
Officers carried out patrols at Sewardstone Road, in Waltham Abbey, and Epping New Road, in Buckhurst Hill.
'Watching a programme'
Sgt Will Wilsher added: "What officers witnessed were offences that are not only against the law, they're a direct result of poor decision making, disregard for the law and actions undermining their own safety and the safety of others.
"But they are the very drivers we want to target so we can also highlight the issues and educate how they can be better drivers, to make sure everyone is safe."
Essex Police said a speeding driver doing 42mph (67km/h) was also caught "watching a programme on a large mounted tablet-type screen".
A food delivery driver, reported for careless driving after a moped pulled out in front of another vehicle, had no insurance.
Police said the patrols were carried out as part of Vision Zero, external, which aims to reduce fatal road casualties to zero by 2040 or sooner.
According to The Safer Essex Roads Partnership, 41 people were killed, external on the county's roads in 2023.
