Senior officer faces hearing over assault claim

A senior police officer has been accused of assaulting two women while off duty.
According to the allegations against Avon and Somerset Police's Insp Tola Munro, which have been published on the force's website, external, the incident happened on 6 May, 2023.
Insp Munro, who works in south Bristol and is the former president of the National Black Police Association, now faces a misconduct hearing, the Local Democracy Reporting Service reports.
The hearing, which will start on 29 July, will be overseen by a legally qualified chair who is independent of policing.
