Pedestrian seriously hurt in collision

A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Penkridge, Stafforshire.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said it had been called to Church Road at 12:13 GMT and found an elderly man, who was given trauma treatment at the scene.
He was then taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital further treatment.
No-one else was hurt, the service added.
