Arts funding 'significant' for city's cultural scene

A city has been given a grant of more than £500,000 to improve its cultural offering for residents.

The Peterborough Cultural Alliance group (PCA), external said it had been awarded the money by Arts Council England.

PCA director Sughra Ahmed said: “This award marks a significant step in our commitment and investment in Peterborough’s cultural capital."

The group said it hoped the money would help grow "cultural infrastructure" and bring the city together by "galvanising arts, culture and heritage programmes".

In a statement, Arts Council England said it was "thrilled" to be awarding the money.
