People in Guernsey are being asked how much they think deputies should earn.
The Independent States Members' Pay Review Panel said a survey on the issue would help it decide how much States members and non-States members should be paid.
Deputies are currently paid £43,036, with members of the Policy and Resources Committee and other committee presidents earning more.
States members will consider the panel's findings before the end of this political term.
New pay rates would be introduced after June 2025.
The panel said its members would make a recommendation on pay rates after the completion of the survey.
Richard Hamilton, chairman of the panel, said members would "balance the results of this survey against a range of other factors before reaching our conclusions".
"We’re keen to hear a wide range of views," he said.

Karl Jackson said States members should be paid in line with UK MPs
Asked for his views by the BBC, resident Karl Jackson said he believed States members should be paid more.
He said £90,000 was a good figure as it was close to how much MPs earn in the UK.
MPs have an annual salary of £91,346.
Guna said deputies should earn £36,000 a year as it was close to median earnings for people in Guernsey.
The median salary in the Bailiwick for 2023 was £40,918.

Guna said the current salary for States members was too high
The panel said it would hold three drop-in events simultaneously on 27 April across Guernsey between 09:30 and 12:00 BST.
The events will take place at the Guille-Allès Library, St Martins Community Centre and The Salvation Army Café on the Bridge.
