Teen charged with arson and firearm possession

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with arson with intent endanger life and possession of a firearm following attacks at two properties in Middlesbrough.
Police were called to Brereton Road shortly after 20:35 GMT on Monday, where it was reported an accelerant had been thrown at the property and a firearm had been discharged.
Moments later, officers received a report of a window being smashed in Westminster Road.
The boy, who cannot be named, appeared before Teesside magistrates on Wednesday.
He was remanded in youth detention accommodation until his next appearance at Teesside Crown Court on 28 February.
Cleveland Police said he has also been charged, external with possession of a knife or blade in a public place.
