The A18 Mountain Road has reopened after thick fog saw it closed for most of the morning.

Police initially shut the road, which is currently one-way from Ramsey to Onchan, after an early morning crash involving motorcyclist but did not reopen it due to the severely reduce visibility

While officers said conditions had improved enough to reopen the road, "serious care" needed to be taken due to standing water and damp patches on the route.

Isle of Man TT race organisers said, due to the improvement in the conditions, the evening's qualifying sessions was due to go ahead as planned.
